Yesteday we toured central Stavropol. The library was closed to Chaim Hertzel, dressed in a tie and suit, as a 'visiting dignitary from New York', couldn't see the old Torah which was stolen from the community and is now on display.
But when we went to look at the Shul, we were actually admitted inside.
It is beautiful. Obviously remodeleed, since the only thing that slightly made it look like a former was stained glass bashed out and replaced by garbage bags, but overall a very pretty interior.
Not so large though, so if we do get it back, then we will probably try to extend it if we can.
Pictures to follow, hopefully when we arrive in America.
Or hopefully before then.
