Well, we went to the restaurant, and cannot kasher the place for reasons too complicated to write.
So while the community leaders sat on the edge of their seats and nervously whispered to each other (we didn't give our 2000 bucks for the program yet), we called our Rabbis to ask what to do.
So here is what we are (sadly) doing.
All food will have kosher INGREDIENTS but not be PREPARED kosher, since we are able to control the ingredients. Also, I'm gonna try to get in early on Taanis Esther and turn on the ovens for them. They promised to clean the ovens, and have a hot dishwasher, which doesn't hit the Halachic heat (110 degrees) but will have to do since we have no other choice.
I will show up to the party after everyone has eaten, give my speech, read the Megilla, and then dance.
What a shame. It's a little heartbreaking to know that 120 Jews (would've been more but the community didnt even believe they'd GET 120 Jews) will be eating non-kosher.
So lessons are learnt.
From now on, we raise the money, and we control EVERYTHING! They can help, but we order them what to do. If they don't like it, they can go back to their 200 dollar meals, or they can join our 8000 dollar Pesach, and get all the kovod they need etc.
