Actually, they are correct. Chabad has becom somewhat arrogant. Also, when any shliach moves to a different country, he should be bending ver backwards to comply with the rules.
I've also read other opinions, these on the Russian forums, of people who are seething. They are upset about the apparent request from the Federation that Rabbis seemingly should be above the law, able to be on different visas, registration problems etc. and get away with it.
And the truth is they are correct. We come out sounding very arrogant.
So what is missing here?
What's missing is the fact that the authorities have made it virtually impossible for us to live there. I wrote about the whole problem in a previous post, but I think it should have been publicized along with the other news stories.

Everytime we experience much pain or disappointment we come to a clearer understanding.There is something-we have to change within ourselves to improve ourselves. letting go of our preconceived ideas about how things should be.Seeing reality for what it truly is helps us put everything in a better perspective. Yes, there may be a problem in Lubavich with arrogance. If it's doing good in the world, then it's not a primary problem that needs fixing.
If it is making problems, then perhaps it should be addressed.
But for people who don't even know you to judge you as arrogant is false and wrong!!
You, of all Lubavichers are the farthest away from Lubavich arrogance.
You, of all people vehemently oppose Lubavicher's who put the Rebbe as their excuse for all their illegal and sinful actions...
People are just not seeing your side of the story posted anywhere!
You need to get out there and let the world know your side of the story. In that sense, I think that this blog is the only place where we can see your side (the true side) of the story.
But this blog has turned into your cyber brain. It's a private blog that only those close to you can see and know.
The world, who by the way IS JUDGING you and Chabad is looking at 'yefim' (Mamzer)'s side of the story and judging the entire Chabad because of it.
Maybe send to all these websites the letter that the community wrote to the government. Let them know that there is a list 200 Vs. 1 signatures for your acceptance again.
The world needs to know and be exposed to this horrible scandal which has gone globaly out against Chabad, claiming that Chabad Shluchim abuse their Shlichus etc...
Please Zvi... Speak to some Mashpia, Rabbi Lazar or someone and consider the consequences that are going to befall Chabad as a whole because of this.
The websites are already overflowing with anti-chabad reviews and comments.
Other lubavichers are desperately trying to stick up for chabad and downplay this whole scandal. But they are as misinformed as the rest of the world and they look like total dorks.

I lived in this city for 12 years. Although it was 20 years ago, reading about your amazing activities as spiritual leader in this city and watch closely what going on with your case right now, I realized that nothing change there. People mentality which were raised and nourished under 70 years of Communist era influence remained the same. And therefore they not able to see and appreciate your good intentions. It is painful for me to see what going on with Yours and R.Yisroel cases. All my bad memories came back. Only hope if R. Lasar based on his knowledge of situation, his connections to the Russian authorities and to the World leaders will be able to reverse this matter. And You R. Zvi please be strong and consistent as always Lubavichers were. We are praying for You and R. Yisroel in our women Techilim group and we will continue to do so.
